first_imgThe Rugby Cranes Sevens’ team at the flagging off on Monday morning (Photo by Rachael Tebandeke)LUGOGO – National council of sports has today (Monday) afternoon flagged off the Uganda Rugby sevens team to Tunisia for the Africa sevens championships.The Cranes who were drawn with along with Senegal and Ghana will participate in the championship starting on Saturday October 13-14 in Monastir, Tunisia.Ian Munyani, Isaac Massa and Harunah Muhammad are the new faces in Tolbert Onyango’s side.The core of the team remains intact with Philip Wokorach, SolomonOkia, Pius Ogena, Byron Oketayot, Timothy Kisiga and Justin Kimono allnamed in the squad.However, there is no place for Ivan Magomu on the team while James Odongo is outof action after undergoing surgery.Having won the last two editions of the championship, teamcaptain Wakorach Michael is confident that they will win thechampionships again.“Am very confident that we are going to bring back the trophy homelike we have been doing in the previous occasions.
