first_img“A year ago today, our Government opened the door to marketing freedom for wheat and barley farmers in British Columbia,” says Zimmer. “We’re seeing farmers making more money from the marketplace than ever before, and today we have more solid evidence that marketing freedom has strengthened our farm businesses in the first year.” A study recently released by the Canadian Federation of Independent Business found that 81 per cent of agri-businesses were positively impacted by the change. David Wuthrich, a local farmer, is part of those who have benefited, saying, “Personally, marketing went really well for me this year, I was actually able to market some of my wheat to the Canadian Wheat Board.”- Advertisement –last_img
