first_img1 James Rodriguez in action for Real Madrid AC Milan have reportedly pulled out of the race to sign Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez leaving Chelsea and Manchester United free to battle it out for his signature. The Colombian arrived at Madrid in a marquee £65million deal from Monaco following an impressive showing at the 2014 World Cup.Rodriguez was originally one of the first names on the team sheet at the Bernabeu but has plummeted down the pecking order since Zinedine Zidane took over as manager of the Spanish giants. The midfield man didn’t even make the matchday squad for the Champions League final against Juventus and it seems clear that his future lies away from Madrid if he wants to play regularly.AC Milan were thought to be leading the race for Rodriguez this summer as they look to build a squad capable of challenging Juventus at the top of Serie A.But Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo claim the San Siro side are not interested in paying the guide price set by Madrid, allowing Chelsea and Manchester United to pursue the Colombia international.Rodriguez remains a talented individual and the 25-year-old may yet find his feet if persuaded to come to the Premier League. It awaits to be seen which team he will choose but Manchester United, in particular, are looking to add several big money signings this summer.last_img
