During the meeting the Commander the diplomats on security related issue as well prevention of smuggling, drug trafficking, human trafficking, etc. The Army in Jaffna says it briefed the visiting United Nations Special Rapporteur on Minority Issues Ms Rita Izsak-Ndiaye on security related issues.Izsak-Ndiaye and two other delegates during their visit to the Northern Province, had a cordial meeting with the Commander of the Security Force in Jaffna Major General Mahesh Senanayaka at Security Forces Headquarters in Palaly. The Commander extended warm welcome to the visiting diplomats and explained the present situation of the Jaffna Peninsula. The Commander also briefed the UN official on the reconciliation mechanisms which the security forces are involved in to uplift the livelihood of the people in Jaffna.After a cordial dialogue, the Commander presented mementoes to the delegation as a token of friendship.
