(Photo by Christian Petersen/Getty Images)Ohio State has yet to come to a decision on Urban Meyer’s fate, but Wednesday afternoon, we got an interesting update from Bucknuts reporter Dave Biddle. It somewhat explains what the hold up might be in Columbus.Ohio State’s board of trustees was set to meet early this morning to announce what to do with Urban Meyer – who is on paid administrative leave while the school investigates how he handled allegations of domestic violence against former wide receivers coach Zach Smith. But eight hours later, we still don’t have an answer.Biddle’s report suggests that Ohio State’s brass can’t really get on the same page. Meyer is reportedly in the building, awaiting an answer.Biddle says that Ohio State’s board of trustees wants to reinstate Meyer immediately. He says the school’s president, Michael Drake, wants Meyer to serve a suspension.Complicating matters, Biddle says Meyer is refusing to serve a suspension. If true, this is quite the mess.CliffsNotes version (from what I’ve been told): Ohio State’s BoT wants to reinstate Urban Meyer immediately. University president Michael Drake is balking at that; wants Meyer to serve a suspension. Meyer refuses to serve suspension since he thinks he did nothing wrong. #Buckeyes— Dave Biddle (@davebiddle) August 22, 2018It’s unclear how this is going to turn out, but Biddle’s report does not have any mention of Meyer getting fired. Some thought it was possible he’d lose his job as a result of the scandal.Ohio State is supposedly going to announce its decision today – thought at this point, it’s unclear when. We’ll keep you updated.
